PA Car Title Transfer Done Easily and With Minimal Inconvenience

It may be hard to imagine now, but at one time leaving your house (with no concern about wearing a mask) didn’t require any caution or concern. But at the current moment, movement outside of any kind requires purposeful planning. Before the pandemic, driving to and from work was a bore – a daily chore that most people would do on tuned-out autopilot. But now, cars are one of the safest modes of movement in the outside world. Everyday driving, even a basic daily commute, has become a method of salvaging your peace of mind while socially distancing.

Despite offering an ironic spot for respite, your automobile in the post-COVID-19 world will still give you the same vehicle registration in Pennsylvania headaches it did before. One of those common issues is PA car title transfer. Imagine you choose to leave your current residence, whether to move back home or to start your next phase of life somewhere new. Your car will still have the same value to someone else that it had to you. If you want to sell your used car, or even give it to a friend who is staying behind in your city, then prepare to make a title transfer.

Vehicle Registration PA: Not as Time-Consuming When You Use a Title Registration Service

When you perform a PA car title transfer, you and the person you are transferring the car to must go together to either the DMV or a local service that specializes in title and registration transfer.

If you are a seller or transferor going to the DMV, you must bring the current title completely filled out, including the current mileage. Before going, do not sign the title before starting the title transfer. Both you and the buyer must bring a valid, state-issued ID. You and the buyer will sign the new title at the DMV, where a state employee can witness the signing. If you sign the title before this moment, you may face some headaches. If you are using a Penn. vehicle registration service, they may be able to help you with an already-signed title.

If you are buying or having the car transferred to you, you will need to bring proof of insurance on the car before signing the title. You will have to complete the Vehicle Sales and Use Tax Return/Application for Registration, as well as pay the title transfer fee of $51. On top of that fee, you will pay a location tax ranging from 6% to 8%.

If you do your title transfer through auto tags or local automobile service, they can also help you with license plate transfer. If you decide to transfer license plates at the DMV, make sure to remove the previous license plates only after you finish transferring the title. You can use these old license plates on a new vehicle, or you can turn them into the DMV or auto tags service, but the buyer or transferee does not use them.

If you decide to perform your Pennsylvania car title transfer at an auto tags service, all you’ll need is the title or the manufacturer's certificate of origin, a valid PA driver’s license or photo ID, and your current Penn. Automobile Insurance Card or Declarations Page. The choice between DMV and a vehicle registration PA service, but using a local business may save you time and convenience.
